All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: January 10, 1946 Headline: William Taylor Buried at Belah Tuesday, January 8 Mr. William Vernon Taylor, who died Saturday, Jan. 5, in a New Orleans hospital, was laid to rest in Belah Cemetery last Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1946, at 2 p.m. Mr. Taylor was born Sept. 18, 1871, the son of A. J. and Anne Masters Taylor. He was 76 years of age at the time of death and had lived in the Belah Community for many years prior to his illness. At the time of his demise Mr. Taylor had been in a New Orleans hospital over a long period of time suffering with cancer which was the cause of his death. Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased after the remains had been brought from New Orleans by Hixson Bros. Ambulance. Rev. Sewell, pastor of Nolley memorial Methodist church, and Rev. O. G. Cannon, conducted services. Survivors left to mourn his passing are: two sons, Stuart and Aulcie, both of Monroe; one brother, Joe Taylor of Trout, and one sister, Mrs. M. E. Brown of Jean.
