Baptist Hospital Mr. Charles Eugene Thompson, 44, of Jena, was declared dead on arrival at Alexandria's Baptist Hospital Friday afternoon. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Thompson of Jena. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at East Jena Baptist Church with the Revs. Norman Tyson and Alton Fleming officiating. Burial was in Jena Cemetery with arrangements by Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Graveside services were held by the ministers. Survivors are two brothers, Clyde Thompson of Jena and Benny M. Thompson of Linwood, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Alice T. Crawford of Jena; and his parents. Pallbearers were Doc Eubanks, Cade Smith, Ed Smith, Elton Benson, Oliver Neal, and Elbert White.
