V. Taylor, of Olla, died at her home there. Mrs. Taylor, nee Sarah Francis Davis, was born in 1853 in Catahoula Parish. In 1873 she was married to Dr. William V. Taylor, the family later moving to Olla where Dr. Taylor became engaged in the practice of medicine and where he has continuously resided for the past twenty-nine years. To this union was born seven children, five of whom, with their father, remain to mourn the death of this good woman. She was an upright Christian woman, having years ago united with the church of her choice. Her deeds of kindness, coupled with her lovable disposition, will be missed by the entire citizenship of Olla and surrounding territory. Besides the husband and children, Mrs. Taylor leaves the following brothers and sisters to mourn her passing: L. M. Davis, Jena; Mesdames J. N. Coleman and G. N. Boddie, of Jena and T. M. Butler, of Trout. The children surviving are: Allen Davis Taylor and Arthur Jarrott Taylor, of Memphis, Tenn.; Leonard Henderson Taylor and Mesdames R. E. Prestridge and Lois Crawford, of Olla. Interment was held in the family cemetery at Summerville, Saturday afternoon, Rev. D. B. Boddie, of Opelousas, officiating.
