Headline:  Deaths, John Torrey

Funeral services for John Torrey, 74, well known retired farmer and pioneer 
of Catahoula Parish, who died at the family residence April 16 at 8 a.m. were 
held at the Heard's Cemetery near Manifest where interment was made April 17 
at 2 p.m. with Rev. Thompson Doughty of Manifest officiating.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. John Torrey of Manifest; one daughter, Mrs. E. 
R. Sikes of Manifest; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Lanier of Manifest, Mrs. 
Sallie Calhoun of Oak Grove, and Mrs. Lonie Duke of Rosefield; one brother, 
Lee Torrey of Monroe and three grandchildren.
