Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial followed in Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Thompson died Wednesday morning at Columbia Heights Hospital in Columbia after a long illness. Survivors include a son, Odis Carl Thompson of Chicago, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. Artie Mae Haney of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Hazel Allen of Monroe, Mrs. Lois Franklin and Mrs. Mavis Prewer, both of Grayson, and Mrs. Mildred Posey of New Orleans; two brothers, Odie Whitsell and Mart Whitsell, both of Jonesville; three sisters, Mrs. Eddie Garrett of Manifest and Mrs. Willie Bonner and Mrs. Naomi Beavers, both of Jonesville; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
