Thomas, Sr., 79, of Manifest, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, in Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a native of Cory and was a retired motorman with Western Oceantics, a retired applianceman with Shelton's Building Supply and S&Q Stores in Columbia. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of new Life Pentecostal Church of Manifest. Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 1, at New Life Pentecostal Church with the Revs. David Poole and Joey Paul officiating. Burial followed in Old Bethel Cemetery, west of Clarks, under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Pippins Sharp Thomas, of Rhinehart; two sons, K. W. Thomas, Jr., and Michael Glenn Thomas, both of Jena; three stepsons, Danny Sharp of Grayson, Louie Don Sharp of Rhinehart and Stacy Sharp of Natchitoches; four daughters, Linda Lovelady of Columbia, Evelyn Thomas of Clarks, Doris Masters of Jena, and Kathy James of Pineville; three stepdaughters, Patricia Walton of Jasper, Texas, Paulette Sharp and Kathy Rutledge, both of Rhinehart; one brother, Delma Thomas of Grayson; five sisters, Marie Maxwell of Baker, Annie Lee Bratton of Minden, and Kathleen Cain, Ruby Lasyone, and Rosie Richmond, all of Columbia; 26 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Smith, Tom Smith, Raymond Thomas, Tony Walton, Wilbur Sharp, Rodney Smith, Harvey Boyette, and Kenny Masters.
