Headline:  Mrs. Francis Lena Tarpley Died Tuesday

Mrs. Francis Lena Tarpley, 86, of Jonesville, died last week at the Catahoula 
Parish Hospital at Jonesville.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 1977, at the Utility Baptist 
Church with Rev. Jimmy Bolton, Rev. Jack Knapp, and Rev. Bailey, officiating.

Burial followed at the Pine Grove Cemetery of near Whitehall under 
arrangements by Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Leola Kern of Jonesville, Mrs. Hollis 
Coabon of Roxie, Miss., Mrs. Luther Clark and Mrs. G. L. Welverton, both of 
Natchez, Miss.; two sons, Elvin Eugene Tarpley of Forest Hill and William H. 
Tarpley of Jonesville; one sister, Mrs. Viola Odgen of Walters; 23 
grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
