He was born December 11, 1928, near Trout to the union of I. C. Turnley, Sr., and Rebecca Nugent Turnley. A veteran of the United States Navy, Turnley served during the time of the Korean Conflict. A graveside memorial service is pending, but will be held later this week at the Belah Cemetery at the family plot. Survivors include one daughter, Connie Turnley LaHart of Ovieda, Florida; two sons, Mark C. Turnley of Kingman, Ariz., and Kevin D. Turley of Brattleboro, Vermont; two sisters, Ora Murl Ikerd of LaJolla, Calif., and Sadie Marie Randleman of Shreveport; one brother, I. C. Turnley, Jr., M.D., of Jena; and four grandchildren.
