All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Harrisonburg Man, George Webb, 71, Dies After Attack George Sullivan Webb, former town marshal of Harrisonburg, died in the Jena hospital at 11 a.m. Thursday as a result of a heart attack. He died after an immediate illness of only a few hours. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Harrisonburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Pettis officiating. Interment was in the Heard cemetery at Manifest under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals, Jena. His wife, the former Christine Mosely, preded him in death. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H.C. Webb of Orange, Tex.; one son George Webb III, Los Angeles, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers at the funeral were Harris Finley, Albert Terry, John Routon, Arthur Taliaferro, Freddie Fairbanks and Orville McGuffee.
