Whatley is Called by Death on Saturday Afternoon Funeral services were held at the Belah church on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock for Issac E. Whaley, aged 49, whose untimely death occurred at 2:10 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the home of E.E. Caldwell. Rev. Mack Davidson of Selma, officiated and the interment which occurred in the Belah cemetery, was under the direction of Kinner & Stevens, Jena undertakers. Mr. Whatley was a lifelong resident of this section, having been born in what was then Catahoula parish on May 26, 1886. In 1912 he was married to Miss Angie Caldwell, who with the following children survive him: Altha Whatley, Mrs. Pearl Ganey, Annie and Bernice Whatley, and I. E. Whatley, Jr. He is also survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Whatley, and the following brothers and sisters: E.M., P.D., C.E., J.B., and F.W. Whatley; Mrs. A.D. Grant, Mrs. Alice Cruise, Mrs. R.L. Edwards, Mrs. T.S. Allen and Miss Mae Whatley. The deceased was a member of the Fellowship Baptist church.
