Raymond Welch George Raymond Welch, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Welch, died Sunday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of his parents in Jena. Death was due to pernicious malaria, after an illness of three days. The death of this boy cast a shadow into many homes where he was known. In addition to a large family connection that is well known in this parish, he had scores of little friends who were sincerely grieved at his passing. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Jena Baptist church, Rev. L.D. Posey, pastor, officiating. Following the funeral rites at the church, the remains were conveyed to a family plot near Olla where interment was made. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Gladys and Dorothy Welch and one brother, Edward, Jr. One brother preceded him in death. Kinnerand Stevens, local undertakers, had charge of funeral arrangements.
