Whatley, Former Resident Dies In Pineville Alyffe Leon Whatley, 60, died in a Pineville hospital Thursday March 1 at 9 p.m. He was a resident of Winnfield. Funeral services were held from the Eden Methodist church at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. J. C. Rousseaux, the Rev. A.G. Taylor and the Rev. Dan Blake officiating. Burial followed in the Eden cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers funeral home of Jena. Mr. Whatley had lived in LaSalle parish until moving to Winnfield a few years ago. He was the son of the late James M. and Lillie Whatley and for 35 years a member of the Eden Methodist church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Neva Davis Whatley of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. James Enterkin of Athins, Texas; one son, A.L. Whatley, Jr. of Winnfield; two brothers,, E.R. Whatley of jena and J.F. Whatley of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Waggoner of Olla, Mrs. E.E. Jones of Jena and Mrs. Butler Floyd of Jena; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Burley Corley, Gilbert Duke, Roy Duke, Milton Finley, Aaron Jones and Harold Ray Corley.
