Wilson, Jonesville farmer and stockman, who was shot and killed by Fred Glascock of Monterey. The shooting occured near Monterey. W. F. Doles, who was with Wilson at the time of the shooting, said the two men claimed a dog and that he tried to act as arbitrator. Wilson he said, dodged behind his car as Glascock opened fire. The charge of buckshot tore through Wilson's back, just above the hip. Friends placed him in an automobile and raced towards Jonesville, but he died enroute. Doles told officers he and Glascock's son pleaded with the elder Glascock not to shoot Wilson, but that he ignored their pleas. Dr. E. P. Magouin, coroner, said that death was caused by a charge buckshot fired at close range. Glascock surrendered to Sheriff Campbell of Vidalia and was released on bond on a charge of manslaughter.
