Ward Died at his Home Here on Wed. Morning Henry T. Ward, one of Jena's pioneer citizens died at his home here, Wednesday, March 9th; at ten am. "Uncle Henry", as he was known to a wide circle of friends, had been ill with pneumonia for a period of six weeks, and was eighty years old at the time of his death. While having been engaged in shoe repairing for a great many years, he had been inactive, from a business standpoint, for sometime due to his failing health. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at 2;30 pm March 10th; with Rev. B. T. Goodwin, assisted by Rev. Kitchens, of Springhill, conducting services. Rev. Kitchens is a nephew of Mr. Ward. Interment was at the Nolly Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Ward is survived by the following children: Mrs. M. T. Peyton, Lake Charles, La.; Mrs. Ernest Bartells, San Fernonda, Cal.; Mrs. Bessie Timberlake, Alexandria, La.; Mrs. W. H. Timberlake, Washington, Arkansas; Mrs. O. G. Wynn, Sicily Island, La.; and Mr. Coy Ward of El Paso, Texas.
