Whatley Dies at Nebo Thursday Afternoon Mr. Henry Enoch Whatley, 69, of Jena, died last Thursday afternoon at the residence of a friend, Willie Hudnall, of Nebo route. Whatley was a retired foreman for the Highway Dept. and was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. He was also a member of Carrietta No. 312 F&AM Lodge and was a World War I veteran. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with the Revs. Russell Neal and Charles Funderburk officiating. Burial was in Tidwell Cemetery of Jena with arrangements by Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Jena. Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie W. Lively of Port Allen and Mrs. Louise W. Flake of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Jeter of Trout and Mrs. Gussie Jeter of Jonesville; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lee Whatley, David Whatley, Calvin Jeter, Harvey Hudnall, Alvin Allen, Vincent Whatley, Tommy Hudnall, and Charlie Hudnall. Graveside services were conducted by Carrietta Lodge No. 312 of Trout and Michael Dempsey Lodge No. 327 F&AM, Jena.
