Ward, 2, of Whitehall, died in an Alexandria hospital last Thursday, March 31 at 8:40 p.m. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. from the Cross Roads Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Caskey in charge. Burial followed in Forsythe Cemetery under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Ward is survived by his wife, Maude Ezell Ward; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Bice of New York, N.Y.; one foster daughter, Miss Betty Sherrell of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Joseph and Lege of Atmore, Ala., and Otis of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Trammell of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. R. F. Crait of Atmore, Ala., Mrs. C. G. Vinson of Houston, Texas; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Edgar Smith, Huey Smith, Horace Cannon, Frank Clarkston, Fred Coon, and Albert Bignar.
