Wiley, Sr., 68, of Jonesville, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000. He was a salesman for Lakeside Ford, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jonesville, a mason and member of the Blue Grass Music Association. For many years, Don Wiley and the Blue Grass Boys operated the Catahoula Country Music Show in Jonesville, which featured many Grand Ole Opry stars. For a long time, Wiley and his Catahoula Country Music Show was featured on KALB-TV in Alexandria. He closed all his shows by saying "bicycle". Wiley was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Catahoula Parish to the union of Don and Myrtle Wiley. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11 at First United Methodist Church in Jonesville with the Revs. David Carlton and Mack Walker officiating. Interment followed in the Pease Cemetery at Larto under direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville. Survivors include his wife, Ruthine Wiley of Jonesville, one son, Donny R. Wiley, Jr., of Jonesville; three daughters, Lucy Wilson and Tammy Cooper, both of Jonesville and Trudy Smith of Larto; his mother, Myrtle Wiley of Jonesville, one brother, Frank Wiley of Larto and a sister, Doris Miller of Jonesville; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jeff Wiley, Robert Miller, Bobby Gus Miller, Buddy Trisler, Pat Book, and Layne Book. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Louisiana Grass Band, Scott Cruise, Grover Cruise, Roger Sparks, Russell Sparks and Paul Tyson. - bicycle -
