M. The death angel again invaded this section Sunday when Mrs. Georgia Ada Wad, aged 78 yeas, died at her home here. "Grandma" Ward, as she was affectionately known to her many friends, had been suffering from lingering illness and, although her death was a shock to the members of the family and friends, it was not entirely unexpected. Mrs. Ward was born in Georgia in 1850 and later moved to Webster Parish, Louisiana, where the family made their home up until eighteen years ago, when they moved to Jena. She was married in 1875 to William David Ward who preceded her to the grave two years ago. Early in life she united with the Baptist Church to which she was loyal unto her death. Surviving Mrs. Ward are the following children: Mrs. M. L. Bonds, Jena; W. E. Ward, Alexandria; Eddie Ward, Pineville; Joe Ward, Jena, and Mrs. Annie Walters, Spring Hill. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Jena Monday afternoon, after which interment was held in the Methodist Cemetery here. Rev. John Henry Smith officiating at both services.
