P. Church Dies At His Home Here Rev. J. A. D. Williams died his home here on Monday, November 9, at 4:30 p.m. following a long illness during which he was taken to a hospital in Shreveport and seemingly everything that loving care and medical skill could do to prolong his life was done. Rev. Williams had lived in this community seven years, having moved here from Jefferson, Texas, in 1929. He was a minister of the Methodist Protestant Church and although his failing health prevented him from holding a regular pastorate in late years, he remained active in church work and a devoted Christian. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 10, at Jefferson, Texas, in charge of Rev. Isget of Converse, La. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery at Jefferson under the direction of Kinner and Stevens, local funeral directors. Rev. Williams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ludie Williams, to whom he was married in 1935; one daughter, Mrs. C. P. Kees of Longview, Texas, five grandchildren, four of whom live in Texas and one in Louisiana; one brother, Tom Williams of Atlanta, Texas, and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Hawkins, of Arp, Texas.
