All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: Mary 14, 1931, Thursday Headline: Mrs. Walters is Called by Death at Ruston Home Sub-Headline: Trout Woman Succumbs to Typhoid Fever on May 6th Mrs. Clemy Wyrick Walters, formerly of Trout, but residing at Ruston for the past three months, died in Ruston May 6, after an illness of seven days from typhoid fever. Mrs. Walters was 35 years of age. She was born in Winnfield, La., January 5, 1896, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Wyrick. On Noember 9, 1913, she was married to Mr. W. W. Walters. Funeral was held Thursday, May 7, at Ebenezer Church (Jackson Parish), with Rev. E. A. Brown conducting the services. Interment was in Ebenezer Cemetery, which is located near Jonesboro. Although the deceased had never affiliated with any particular denomination, she was known to be of devout Christian nature and did a great deal of work in the communities where she resided that was of a moral and spiritual benefit to friends. She was the daughter of a primitive Baptist minister and naturally believed in that faith. She is survived by the following: four daughters, Floreine, Regina, Vivian and Billy Ruth; one son, Claud; three brothers, M. Wyrick, Calhoun, La., W. W. Wyrick, Shreveport, La., Robert Wyrick, Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Tressie Lee Wyrick and Lurline Wyrick, and father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wyrick, all of Ruston.
