He was a retired car salesman with Jena Auto Company and retired as deputy sheriff with 12 years service to the LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Department. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Randy ray and Earl Reeves officiating. Burial followed in the Belah Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Martene McIlwain Windham of Belah; three sons, Ronald Windham and Kay Windham, both of Belah; and Leslie Windham of Natchitoches; four sisters, Ethel King of Lake Charles, Georgia Whatley of Rogers, Etta Lena Chevallier of Negreet and Dottie Price of Belah; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Samuel Gulde, Buck Jones, Carl Peavy, Tommy Reeves, Donald Richardson, and Harold Windham. Honorary pallbearers were the auxiliary deputies of the LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Department.
