From The Jena Times - Olla Tullos Signal Date: Wednesday, June 4, 1997 Page: 9A Headline: Area Deaths Boyd Wiley Boyd Wiley, 80, of Acme, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997 at the Natchez regional Medical Center in Natchez, Miss. He was a retired oil well gauger and switcher for Hunt oil Company where he served for over 28 years. He was born June 18, 1916 at Larto. He was a member of acme Baptist Church. Services were held at Acme Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 30, with Rev. Johnny Wagner officiating. Interment followed in Acme Baptist Church Cemetery under direction of young's Funeral home of Ferriday. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Christler D. Wiley of Acme; one daughter, Stella Book of Monterey; two sons, Lynwood Wiley of Ferriday and Joe Wiley of Acme; one brother, Archie Wiley of Monroe; one sister, Mabel Book of Jonesville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Melvin Book, Michael Book, Brandon Wiley, Bruce Wiley, Terry Middleton, Terry Tiffee, Seahon McCall, and Gerald Delhoste. Honorary pallbearers were the retired employees of Hunt Oil Company.
