Headline:  Mrs. Mary J. Wilks Dies at Manifest

Mrs. Mary Jane Wilks, 89, of Manifest, who passed away at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Lillie Mae Ewings of Manifest after a long illness, was buried 
Monday afternoon.  Funeral services were held at 2;30 p.m. at the Manifest 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Hooder and the Rev. Fred Kees conducting 
the final rites.  Interment followed in Heard Cemetery under the direction of 
Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

In addition to the daughter, Mrs. Wilks is survived by six sons, John of 
Trout, Taylor of Baton Rouge, Horace of Jonesville, Hardy of Harrisonburg, 
Perry of Olla, and Cleve of Urania; two brothers, Hugh McDaniel of Olla and 
Arch McDaniel of Kelly, and 45 grandchildren.
