Pigott,64, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 1979, in his residence at Georgetown. He was retired from the Farmers Home Administration as housing program chief for Louisiana. Prior to that, he was a parish supervisor and a district supervisor with FHA. He was a member of the Georgetown Baptist Church. A graduate of Mississippi State University, Pigott was a veteran of World War II and a former high school agriculture teacher. Survivors include his wife, Jelly Smith Pigott of Georgetown and five sisters, Hattie Banks of Memphis, Mildred Ingram of Washington, D. C., and Jessie Merle Harris, Eloise Sartin and Wilda Pigott, all of Tylertown, Miss. Mrs. Pigott was girls basketball coach at Jena High School for many years, leading the Lady Giants to four of their 11 state championships. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Georgetown Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Alexandria.
