He was a retired truck driver and veteran of World War II. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Ronnie Tarver and Rev. Dennis Boyett officiating. Burial followed at the Jena Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Angela Boyett of Jena; three brothers, O. D. Powell, V. J. (Red) Powell and Vernon Powell, all of Jena and four grandchildren.
