Parker, Jr., 65, of Jena, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, October 8, 1990 at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Robertson and Earl Reeves, officiating. Interment followed in Belah Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Leslye Fairbanks Parker of Jena; a son, Ronald Parker of Alexandria; a daughter, Ellen Parker Helmer of St. Landry; three brothers, Jessie M. Parker of Peerland, Texas, Harold Parker and Eldred Parker, both of Jena; six sisters, Louise P. Mitchell of Jena, Ruby Lee of Shreveport, Mary Taylor, Christine Reeves and Sybil Evans, all of Belah and Lavita Richardson of Jena; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Richard Mitchell, Don Valentine, Darryl Valentine, Glen Lee, Randy Parker, and Gregg Evans.
