He was a carpenter. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Henry Booze, officiating. Burial will follow in Webster Cemetery of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include three sons, Darren Purtue, Michael Purtue and James Purtue, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Shannte Purute and Donna Purtue, both of Los Angeles; his mother, MaLinda Purtue of Jena; two brothers, Elmo Harrison Purtue of Flag Staff, Ariz. And Melvin Purtue of Jena; a sister, Carolyn Holmes of Jena and four grandchlidren.
