Parker Mrs. Pinkie Walker Parker, 85 died at the residence of a daughter in Arcadia on Saturday. She was the mother of Mrsm Dave Stringer, correspondant for The Jena Times. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Belah Methodist Church with the Rev. Burl Moreland and Sister Jessie Dummus officiating. Burial was in the Belah Cemetery under arrangements by Hixson Brothers Funeral Directors of Jena. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Anglin, Arcadia, Mrs. Clara Stringer, Mrs. Margaret Beavers and Mrs. Lucille Jones, all of Trout; Mrs. Laura Smith of Shreveport; three sons, Alton B. Parker, Norphlet, Ark., James Parker, Frisco, Texas and E. K. Parker, Campbell, California; 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lavalle Parker, Vance Parkern, Gerald Stringer, Bobby Beavers, Delmar Jones and Max Jones. ** Copied as in The Times Signal, spelling has not been corrected.
