She was a PBX Operator in the Medical Field. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Leland Briggs officiating. Interment followed in the Nolley Memorial Cemetery of Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Nanette Burke of Beach City, Texas; one son, Mickey Eugene Brown of Alexandria; one sister, Maxine Robertson of South Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were John H. Williams, IV, Homer Douglas Brown, Jr., John Robertson, Brent Gates and Mickey Brown. (The Jena Times, Wednesday, March 11, 1998)
