All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ROBERTS, Wilmer Gene Wilmer Gene Roberts, 75, of Elpaso, Texas and formerly of Jonesville, died Sunday, January 18, 1998, at the John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. He was a retired teamster and owner-operator for Morgan Transport and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He served in the Louisiana National Guard, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and was a disabled U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was born at Fullerton in Vernon Parish on March 8, 1922. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Heard Cemetery near Manifest with Rev. Randy Mobley officiating. Interment of under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include two daughters, Monica Rodriquez and Linda Roberts, both of El Paso, Tex.; one son, Bill Roberts of Dallas; one sister, Mary Roberts Russell of Monroe; two brothers, James Richard Roberts and John William Roberts, both of Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
