He was retired from Louisiana-Pacific, Corp., a member of the Urania Pentecostal Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was born January 5, 1912 at Pollock to the union of Homer and Jane Howard Rogers. Services were held Tuesday, September 23, 1997, at the Urania Pentecostal Church with Revs. David Mayo and Rodney Begnaud officiating. Burial followed in the Pinehill Cemetery of Urania under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Tootsie Rogers of Urania; one daughter, Mary Jane Gingles of Logansport; two sons, Stanley Rogers of Urania and Earl Rogers of Grayson; four sisters, Lucille Paul of Elizabeth, Louise Blockner of Bastrop, Bobbie Williams of Georgetown, and Marie Morrow of Pollock; five brothers, Clarence Rogers and Jack Rogers, both of Pollock, Herbert Rogers of Metairie, Frank Rogers of Del Rio, Texas and Homer Rogers of Slaughter; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
