She was a retired school teacher and a member of the First Baptist Church in Jena. She was born March 7, 1904 in Jena to the union of John and Mary Hailey Parker. Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Nolley Memorial Cemetery of Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens Inc. of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Sue Sandifer of Jonesville; two sons, James Russell of Baton Rouge and Carl Russell of Richmond, Va.; eight grand- children and eleven great-grandchildren.
