Roach, 71, of Jonesville, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 1998, at Rapides regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was a retired assembly line worker in the aircraft industry and a member of Parhams Baptist Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Tony Ganey officiating. Interment followed in the Chalk Hill Cemetery near Little Creek under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Roach of Jonesville; four daughters, Sheila Thomas of Aurora, Co., June Thornley of Colleyville, Tx., Nancy Logan of Tyler, Tx. and Joan Mills of Grapevine, Tx.; one step-son, Bobby Roach of Portland, Ore.; six sisters, Hazel Ford of Winnfield, Dorothy Akin of Jena, Myrtle Haseman of Abbeville, Lessie Mae Wall of Bellchase, Marie Evans of Parhams and Golden Moser of Ft. Worth, Tx.; one brother, Francis Valentine of Paradise; ten grandchildren and eight great-grand- children. (The Jena Times, Wednesday, February 18, 1998)
