Richardson, 70, of Jena, died at 12:53 p.m. Monday, November 19, 1990, at his residence. He was a retired postal worker, a member and deacon of Jena First Baptist Church where he served as usher, Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He was a native of Catahoula Parish, but had lived in Jena since 1944. He was founder of Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum and of the Richardson Cemetery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II where he received the purple heart for his service in the Pacific Theatre. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at First Baptist Church with the Revs. R.C. Hammock, K.G. Brooks and Dr. Henry Blount, officiating. Burial will follow at Richardson Cemetery of Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary (Jane) Doughty Richardson of Jena; two sons, Gerald Richardson of Shreveport and Donny Richardson of Jena; a daughter, Janet Kelly of Jena; a sister Althea Hoofard of Chico, Calif.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dean Grant, Dale Honeycutt, Denny McMillin, Danny Richardson, Leslie Bass, Murphy McMillan, Gary Richardson and Bill Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church and members of Adult Two Men's Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
