Stevenson, 73, of Jena, died Sunday, December 14, 1997 at her residence. She was a Department Store Manager and a member of Bellvue Baptist Church in Jena. Services were held Monday, December 15, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Byron Norris officiating. Interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery of Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include her husband, Melvin T. Stevenson of Jena; one daughter, Yvonne Stevenson of Milwaukee, Wis.; one son, Scott Stevenson of Jena; two sisters, LaVerne Futrell of Ball and Lonnie Andrews of West Monroe; one brother, Clayton Mitchell of Longview, Texas; one grandchild and one great- grandchild. Pallbearers were Ellis Crooks, Doyle L. Stevenson, Kirby Jones, H.W. Andrews, W.G. Wilson and LaVelle Stevenson. Honorary pallbearer was Max Mitchell. (The Jena Times, Wednesday, December 17, 1997)
