SYKES, Mary Lou Young

 Mary Lou Young Sykes, 61, of Tullos, died at 10:50 a.m., Thursday, March 19,
1998, in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

 She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Jena.

 Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Tullos First Baptist
Church in Tullos with Rev. James Brown officiating.

 Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Jena under direction of
Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

 Survivors include three daughters, Lavinia Sykes and Debbie Rae Sykes, both
of Tullos and Shari Higgs of Winnfield; one son, Clay Randall Sykes of Tullos;
her mother, Mildred Hanes Young of Jena; three sisters, Susie Thompson and 
Lillie Arnold, both of Jena and Jo Ann Wilbanks of Redwater, Tx.; two 
brothers, Robert Young of Tullos and Sam Young of Jena; and three grand-
children.

 Pallbearers were Leroy henderson, Ed Todd, Leon Sykes, Randall Higgs, Scott
Hughes and Jerry Harris.
