He was a retired truck driver with Texas Pacific trucking Company and a member of Nebo Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Jena, a member of the LaSalle Cattlemen's Association and a veteran of World War II. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, may 21, at the Nebo Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary Norris and Craig James officiating. Interment followed in the Nebo Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Elsie "Frenchie" Skrable of Nebo; three daughters, Edwina Graham of Houston, Texas, Hilda Keene of Jena and Gloria Ganey of Belah; three sisters, Grace Mattews of Charlotte, N.C., Henrietta DelGigante of Longwood, Fla. And Barbara LoProto of Sebstain, Fla.; one brother, George Skrable of Hackensack, N.M.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mike Ganey, Matt Ganey, Dustin Keene, Jarett Collins, Kevin Wilson and Steve Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Martin Paul and Turner Sanders.
