She was a homemaker and a member of Eden Methodist Church and had been active in the MDA fund drives in this area for many years. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 12, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. P.A. "Fox" Paul and Dave Carlton officiating. Interment followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery near Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. Survivors include one son, Johnny Swire of Lake Charles; her mother, Lena McClure Bell of Jena; and one sister, Sandra Sue Lewis of Lake Charles. Pallbearers were Sam McClure, Joe Bacle, Cecil Duncan, Walter Craig, Cleveland Poole, and Craig Franklin.
