John L. Swope, Jr.

John L. "Bub" Swope, Jr., 64, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998 in
St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

He was a project superintendent for Hartney Construction Company, a member of
Franklin Masonic Lodge and a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Georgetown.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 29, at Beulah Baptist Church with
the Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating.

Interment followed in the Beulah Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers
Funeral Home of Alexandria.

Survivors include his wife, Frieda B. Swope of Georgetown; two sons, Claude
Swope of Sulphur and John Swope III of Georgetown; four daughters, Cheryl
Robicheaux of Baton Rouge, Diana Finch and Susan Bernard, both of Georgetown
and Teresa Gordon of Lafayette; one sister, Lynn Swope Coss of Shreveport; and
15 grandchildren.
