She was a retired variety sales clerk and was born April 2, 1918, in Pickering to the union of Timothy B. and Josephine Spillers Perkins. Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 20, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with Junior Trisler and brad Crooks officiating. Interment followed in the Nolley Memorial Cemetery of Jena with arrangements by Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Lillian Russell of Pineville; one son, Charles R. Slay, Sr. of Rhinehart; one sister, Willie Tugwell of Jena; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dale Willis, Doc Eubanks, Charles Slay, Jr., Kenneth Russell, and Timothy Russell.
