He was employed in the oilfield industry and was a member of the Pinehill Baptist Church of Urania. He was born March 8, 1944 at Urania to the union of Earl and Ethel Walker Smith. Services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, September 27, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral home of Jena with Rev. Ed Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Smith of Olla; one daughter, Shellie Smith of Arlington, Tx.; two sons, Timmy Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Steven Smith of Monroe; one step-daughter, Tabitha Colins of Olla; his mother, Ethel Smith of Urania; four sisters, Nelda Lasiter and Pam Mauterer, both of Olla, Karen Brown of Tullos and Annette Wilson of Urania; three brothers, Dalton Davidson of tioga, G. H. Smith of Whitehall and Lester Smith of Tullos; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Richard King, Mike Harter, Shelton Mitchell, Bob Allbritton, David Adams, and David Sharp.
