She died as she lived, a devoted Christian. She was sick only a few days and her death was a shock to the surrounding community. She was a member of the Midway Baptist Church and was true to her Master, her church and was to all her friends in things that were right. She was leader of the Junior B. Y. P. U., a member of the Senior class in Sunday School, also secretary of that class and a member of the church choir. At the time of her death she was 27 years, 4 months and three days old. She will be greeted by a band of loved ones on the Golden Shore, including two brothers and one sister. She leaves to mourn her death, her father and mother, Mr. And Mrs. G. W. Stanley, four brothers, Roscoe, Ralph, Leonard and Elbert, all of Midway and other relatives and many friends. Loving friends brought lovely floral offerings as tokens of their love and respect. Rev. J. H. Smith, of Jena, conducted the funeral services at the Midway Church Sunday morning, after which the remains were taken to Mars Hill cemetery near Verda, La., to await His second coming. At the graveyard Rev. R. M. Doughty spoke a few comforting words to the grief-stricken parents and loved ones. To her father, mother and sorrowing relatives the writer tenders deepest sympathy. "Sleep on, dear one, and take thy rest, "We all loved you, but God loved you best." A Friend, CARRIE DOUGHTY
