He was retired from civil service at Ft. Polk in Electronic repairs and a member of Pineville Church of Christ. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Pineville with John Wright and Joe Pennington, officiating. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery of Pineville under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. Survivors include one son, Tery Smith of Pineville; five brothers, Homer Smith of Monroe, Walter Smith of Tyler, Texas. Leslie Smith of Lindale, Texas, Herbert Smith of Pasadena, Texas, and Pet Smith of Highland, Texas; a sister Claudia Jones of Natchez. Pallbearers were Lynn Scarborough, Randy Smith, John Jacobe, Gary Smith, Dwight Smith and Winston Cutrer.
