She was a retired LaSalle Parish School Teacher, having served the Profession for 41 years; was a member of the Louisiana Association of Retired Teachers; and a member of Midway Baptist Church. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Rick Feazell and S.B. Spinks, officiating. Burial followed at Woodland Cemetery of Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include two sisters, Gertrude Doughty and Myrtle Pritchard, both of Jena; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Luther Ray Doughty Jr., Holmes Breithaupt, Ray Thompson, Jimmy Summerlin, T.E. Summerlin and Claude Wilson.
