She was a retired supervisor of secondary education for the LaSalle Parish School system and member of Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church of Jena. She was a life member of the Louisiana Tech University Home Economics Foundation, LaSalle Parish Industrial Development Board, Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, delta Zeta Sorority, theta Epsilon Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpha Upsilon, and Jena Garden Club. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Nolley Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Carroll, officiating. Interment followed at Belah Cemetery of Trout under arrangements of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include a step-son, Robert A. Seals of Baton Rouge; two nephews and a niece and a host of friends and former students. Pallbearers were Steve Sanders, I.C. Turnley Jr., M.D., Don Steen, Bill Davis, Morgan Baker and James Justiss. Honorary pallbearers were Leland Nichols, Roy Welch, Fred Shiel, Frank Doughty and Floyd Perritt.
