Steen, 41, of Washington, D.C., and a native of LaSalle parish, died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 1990, at the LaSalle General Hospital in Jena. He was an attorney for the Federal Energy Commission in Washington D.C. and veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, and District of Columbia Bar Association. He finished LSU Law School in 1975. He was an Eagle Scout and recipient of the God and Country Award. Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nolley Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Carroll, officiating. Burial followed at Nolley Cemetery of Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his parents, Don and Mavis Steen of Jena; and a sister, Donna Steen Permenter of Houston. Pallbearers were V.L. Tarver, Keith Tarver, J.C. Cason, Kenneth McCartney, Guy Campbell and Wayne McGuffee.
