She was a homemaker and member of the Midway Pentecostal Church. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Midway Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Scott Wilson and Charles Freeman, officiating. Burial followed at Jena Cemetery under arrangements of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include her husband, Elzie Smith of Jena; two daughters, Sallie Thornhill and Glenda Whatley, both of Jena; a son, Norman Smith of McComb, Miss.; one sister, Maudeen Torrey of Harrisonburg; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roscoe Lively, Irving Fleming, Rex Sharp, Johnny Keene, Wesley Eubanks and Vance Keene. Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Claude Terral, Rev. Kenneth Allen, Alvin Allen, and Robert Walton.
