Two LaSalle Men die after wreck Two LaSalle Parish men died from injuries suffered in an early Saturday morning traffic accident on La. Hwy. 459 about nine miles north of Jena. Stephen Wayne Sharp, 21, of Jena died at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Bobby Jones, 22, of Trout, died at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. Both died in a New Orleans hosptial after being transferred there. Sharp and Jones were passengers in a truck driven by Steve Bird, 22, of Jonesville, State Police Troop E said. Bird and passenger, Rhonda Tarver, 12, of Trout, were not seriously injured in the accident, which happened on Aimwell Highway near the sand dunes road. Bird was driving south on La. 459 and was passing another vehicle when his vehicle went off the road in a curve. The truck flipped over several time, ejecting all occupants. Officers said Monday the accident was still under investigation and charges were pending. STEPHEN SHARP Steven Wayne Sharp, 21, of Good Pine community, died at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 1991, at Huey P. Long Hospital Hospital in New Orleans. He was employed at Louisiana Pacific's plywood plant in Urania. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, at Pine Grove Baptist Church of Rhinehart with the Revs. Preston Holder and Scott Wilson officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his parents, Michael and Janice Sharp of Jena; two sisters, Cynthia Michelle Sharp and Denice Sharp Creed, both of Jena; maternal grandmother, Opal Sharp of Jena; paternal grandmother, Hatie Culp of Jena; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sharp of Jena; and step- grandfather, Earl Culp.
