She was a native of Enterprise and a residents of Caldwell Paris for over 60 years. She was a former teacher and homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbia. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Welcome Home Cemetery near Grayson with Rev. Cecil Gregory officiating. Burial was under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors include two sons, Julian D. Smith of Monroe and Johnnie Ray Smith of St. Charles, Mo.; two sisters, Cammie Tarver of Jena and Eunice Poole of Gonzales; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Pallbearers were Dr. Harold C. Hawkins, H. Hal Garner, John Bannister, Charles "Buddy" Page, Dr. Mancil C. Wilkie and Dr. Leo Cheatum.
