Simmons, 64, night watchman for Urania Lumber Co., who died at the family residence in Urania Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. were held Wednesday May 22 at the residence at 2 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Harbour officiating. Interment was made at Pine Hill Cemetery near Urania under the direction of Riser and Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena. Mr. Simmons, son of Mrs. Thomas Simmons of Georgetown, was born at LeCompte, and has resided in Urania 7 or 8 years. He was married to Miss Pauline Verensky of Boyce in 1903. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pauline Simmons; one son, Charles of Urania; 5 daughters, Mrs. Edna Beaubeff of Cotton Port, Mrs. David Biddle of Gilmer, Texas, Mrs. Jodie Lofton, Mrs. J.H. Morrison and Mrs. Jim Collander, all of Urania; Mrs. Margaret Simmons of Georgetown, mother; Mrs. S. Scott of Georgetown, Mrs. Hattie Atkins of Pollock and Mrs. Alice Coleman of Dallas, Texas, sisters; John and Jim Simmons of Rayville and Monroe brothers.
